IN THE BEGINNING....

Those are not only the opening words of the Bible, they are also a most important fact of life for everyone of us. Everything (and everyone) has to start somewhere. Except of course GOD, who clearly had no beginning , but that is a subject for a later time.

1. ​Creation had a beginning...read the first 2 chapters of Genesis (oh! that's interesting, the word Genesis means "beginnings")
2. Man himself had a beginning.... yep you guessed it, I am NOT an Evolutionist
3. Man's separation from God had a beginning....Genesis chapter3
4. God's plan of salvation had a beginning ...we first learn about it in Gen. 3:15 after man became separated from God, but rest assured, God Made The Plan Before He Made The Man....more on this later.
5. The Lord's Church had a beginning....subject for a later time😊
6. Sulphur Fork Missionary Baptist Church had a beginning..... I would insert a link to www.sulphurforkmbc.org/about if I knew how...but since this a "beginning" for me I haven't progressed (notice I didn't say "evolved"....words matter) that far yet. If you go there you will find a short history of our beginnings.
7. And of course, this blog has a beginning....and this is it!

I will get better at this. Will try to keep it "pithy" as Bill O'Reilley says. Will try to keep it current and relative. Not my intent to go into long written sermons...if you like long sermons just come and join us in services at Sulphur Fork and as everyone will tell you.... they are plenty long😇
